The Orchestra

THE ORCHESTRA

Wimbledon Community Orchestra was founded by Lance Beecheno in 2012. We are an orchestra of adult amateur musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities. As a community orchestra we aim to provide the opportunity for all our players to make music in a friendly fun environment. We are growing all of the time and currently have over 50 regular members. We do not have a standard classical set up of instrumentalists as we aim as much as possible to be inclusive and our repertoire reflects our diversity!

We rehearse on Saturday mornings at St James Church Hall from 10:30 to 12:30pm, with a short break in the middle for tea and biscuits. The rehearsals are relaxed with an emphasis on fun and enjoying the experience of playing in a group environment.

New members are always welcome. We don't hold auditions so just contact us to let us know you would like to come along! Subscriptions are £12 monthly paid by standing order.
